Continuing with our series on the members of the FIFA teams at Meliora 42 Esports, in today’s piece, we will be introducing Charanjot Singh. Read on to find out more about his story, his journey in Esports and the challenges he faces!
The journey to success
At the tender age of 15, Charanjot first began playing FIFA professionally. Known as one of India’s best in this space, Charanjot’s victories are numerous. These are all a byproduct of the hours invested into playing this game full time. Charanjot shares with us that one of his greatest challenges is having the right mentality during the tournaments, to not let his emotions get in the way when faced with a game that looks potentially disfavorable.
When looking back on his journey, Charanjot relates that his professional gaming career has come a long way. The biggest turning point would be signing with M42 Esports. M42 Esports has allowed Charanjot to make great progress from his humble beginnings, moving from a smalI Indian organisation to becoming a key athlete in one of South East Asia’s biggest Esports ecosystems.
We asked Charanjot about the recent 2v2 FIFA Global Series Open Singapore and he commented with confidence that both he and fellow FIFA teammate, Aditya, knew their potential. All that was left for the duo was to consistently practice and put in the hours before executing the same strategies during their tournaments.
A challenge faced by Charanjot was maintaining his cool during the game. Playing 2v2 was something new to him and so he had to build up the teamwork and get accustomed to the combined playing dynamics. Charanjot laments that there were days where he didn’t have the best start to the games but ultimately, bounced back stronger than ever on the day of the knockouts.
